Layout concept

Every aspect of this layout has a special meaning to me. The banner on top, the colour use, the introduction movie and the flash movie incorporated in the banner. The text is of course is special to me, because I wrote it.

The top banner
This banner to me seems like a small canvas. It is like a painting where the artist splashes colours onto it to create a masterpiece. The image is abstract and not a definite form. This is how I feel. I still have to figure out exactly who I am and what I want to do with my life. I am a painting in the making, a person who is not yet definite. The person that is me is like that canvas, an abstract figure ready to be shaped and formed through education and experience.
This canvas also represents my creativity. Painters are creative and so am I. They aim to create beautiful things with their hands and so do I.

Colour use
For the first version of the website I used black and white, which are the most neutral colours of all colours. Since I am still neutral about who I want to be I chose these colours to represent me and thus also the website. The colours will come with experience and gained knowledge.
This new version of the website has two other main colours namely grey and pink. I decided upon these colours, because of a few reasons. They match with the colours of the banner. I am starting to feel less neutral about who I want to be. And this colourscheme is not one you see very often and so I wanted to differentiate myself from the crowd.

Flash movies
The introduction movie shows a computer trying to access my portfolio website. You could see this as myself trying to access the person inside of me. After the website is loaded you can still see the movie incorporated in the banner on the top. Still trying to access but this time you can see clear images in between the static. The image of me is being formed. I am in my fourth and final year of college now and I am on a distinguished road of self-discovery. With static and disturbances every now and then, but sometimes my mind is as clear as the sky and thus the vision of my future and the person who I am and will become is created.
